Four BISD teams competed February 1, 2020 at Palacios High School and all four teams brought home awards. Three teams advanced to the Southeast Texas Regional Championship scheduled for February 22, 2020 at San Jacinto College.
Brazoswood’s Varsity team, Texas Toast, went into the FTC Robotics Houston South League Championship ranked first in the competition and walked away with the title when the day was completed keeping them at the top of the league for the entire season. The team took 1st place in the Inspire Award and Best Overall Team.
The Brazoswood rookie JV team, Texas Fried Chicken, went into the championship ranked 3rd and made it to the semi-final round. They won the Best Robot Design Award and 2nd place Inspire Award.
The Brazosport High team won the Judges Award.
Clute Intermediate had huge success at the completion. They won the Connect Award and took 3rd place with the Inspire Award. They demonstrated a high level of achievement against mainly high school teams with a fully functional robot that was able to perform autonomous tasks, score points and win matches.
Congratulations to all students and coaches who have worked hard and tested their knowledge and skills to the limits this season. Thank you also for the volunteer sponsors who have assisted the teams in achieving such a high level of success.
