This is the image for the news article titled BISD Board Unanimously Approves Salary Increase for All EmployeesDuring their regular June meeting, the Brazosport ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a district-wide salary increase for all BISD employees that exceeded the HB3 requirements for teacher pay raises by 235%. BISD teachers’ salaries are currently in the top 5.5% percent in the state! The total amount for increased compensation is $3,134,932. We appreciate the progress made during the 86th Legislative Session to increase funding for public education.

“We believe that recruiting and retaining highly effective teachers and staff is instrumental in ensuring our students continue to receive a quality education. Our students deserve the very best!” said Superintendent Danny Massey.

In addition, the district also increased fine arts and athletic stipends to reflect market competitiveness. Implementation of these adjustments places BISD within the top 75th percentile or above among peer districts.

Brazosport ISD also continues to pay critical needs stipends in the areas of:
  • Math/Science (9th-12th) - $3,500
  • Math/Science (7th-8th) - $1,750
  • Lanier Middle Distinguished Teacher - $10,000
  • Lanier Middle Accomplished Teacher - $2,000
  • Bilingual - $4,500
  • Special Education - $2,000

BISD campus staff also have the opportunity to earn performance pay up to $1,400 with campus distinctions designated by the Texas Education Agency. Last school year, BISD paid campus staff over $100,000 for earning campus distinctions. All BISD staff can also earn up to $600 a year for attendance incentives.
