We are not only “rounding up” pre-kindergarten students, but we have “caught” Mrs. Dana West as our new Principal to lead our Elisabet Ney Pre-K School!
Mrs. West graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood. She received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Dana began her career in Columbia-Brazoria ISD serving as a kindergarten teacher, an interventionist, an instructional coach and an assistant principal for Barrow Elementary. She has an extensive background in early childhood education and has made numerous presentations for topics such as balanced literacy, guided reading, literacy stations, and instructional technology. For hobbies, she enjoys the outdoors, weekends at the deer lease, watching football and spending time with family. She has been married to her husband Zeke for 11 years.
West’s expertise in early childhood has made her a perfect match to “lead the littles” for Brazosport ISD at Ney Pre-K School. For Dana West, “It’s a Small World” will take on a whole new meaning as she leads the launch for students’ educational experiences in pre-kindergarten!
