BISD Classes Resume Friday, August 28, 2020
We are very fortunate that Hurricane Laura did not impact our community. As planned, BISD schools will resume learning as scheduled tomorrow, Friday, August 28.

Update August 24, 2020 ~ 12:00 PM
BISD Campus & Remote Classes Closed Tues-Thurs, Aug 25-27, 2020

Given the uncertainty of Tropical Storm Laura in the Gulf of Mexico, we have determined it is in the best interest of our students and staff to take action and close schools Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The path of this storm has changed several times over the last few days and is anticipated to strengthen. We encourage everyone to take precautions and use this time to prepare for the potential heavy winds and rain that may impact our area.

There will be no classes for virtual at home learners or at school learners on these closure dates. We will continue monitoring the Gulf of Mexico and inform parents and staff of any additional closures depending on the impact to our area, through our mass call out system, BISD social media, local and Houston area news stations. Thank you and stay safe!

Update August 21, 2020 ~ 1:35 PM
BISD is closely monitoring the potential tropical storm or hurricane currently forecasted to enter the Gulf of Mexico this weekend or early next week. Depending on potential flooding or other weather conditions, a decision could be made over the weekend regarding school closures. If schools are closed, there will be no classes for virtual at home learners or at school learners on closure dates.

We will continue to monitor and post updates on the BISD Website, Facebook and Twitter. In the event of school closure, we will also contact our parents directly via email, text and phone call through SchoolMessenger. Parents, please ensure we have your most recent contact information on file in Parent Self Serve. Any school closures will also be communicated through local and Houston area news stations.

Know that the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. Please take the necessary precautions to keep your family safe, dry and well!
