These top scholars earned the two highest rankings among their graduating classes after years of hard work and commitment to their academic careers. We congratulate them on their accomplishments and wish them continued success throughout their college and career journeys.

“My Parents have always supported me and encouraged me to do my best. I will miss them when I go off to college, but I’m glad that I won’t be too far away at Sam Houston to come home when they need me.”

Educator Who Made a Difference: Mrs. Linda Puckett
“Mrs. Linda Puckett helped me so much this year by pushing me past what I thought were my limits, encouraging me to stretch farther, to see things in myself that I didn’t know were there. Ms. Puckett was always there when I wanted to talk to someone; she always listened and understood what I was saying.”

“I don’t think I can give a finite amount of gratitude to Mr. Troy Day, my AP Chemistry teacher, for all that he has done for me. He’s the one that finally let me drop the hammer on what I wanted to do with my life. For that, I have no words, since only my future actions will prove my thanks to him.”

"Ms. Burgess has been a huge contributor to my success over these last three years as my school counselor. She has worked tirelessly to adjust my schedule and direct me to various scholarship opportunities. The hours she has put in, just to help me, indicates how much she cares about each individual student. For these reasons, I have great respect for her."

Educator Who Made a Difference: Mr. Chris McLeod
“I’ve had many teachers who have made a difference in my education, but Mr. Chris McLeod, my rocketry teacher, has impacted my senior year and has helped me focus on my future. Mr. McLeod has inspired me in the classroom by always being passionate about what he was doing, whether it was in rocket engineering or helping us come up with new ideas. He also taught us some valuable life lessons, like the importance of hard work and learning from your mistakes, which have all helped me get to where I am today.”
