The Department of Instruction and Professional Learning would like to congratulate our very first recipient of the Essential Educator Spotlight! Congratulations to Michelle Hubbell at Freeport Intermediate School! Mrs. Hubbell, Math Interventionist, has focused on increasing student engagement in her classroom by choosing activities with a high engagement factor and embedding student choice throughout her lessons. Both At School and At Home students now use digital tools to practice math concepts and choose when they are ready to move on in their lesson. These structures also allow for exciting cooperative grouping opportunities and student ownership in both face to face and virtual environments. Please join us in congratulating Michelle Hubbell!
