The honor of All-State is earned by less than three percent of those who try out, with nearly 73,000 students beginning the audition process. Students participated in competitive auditions at the District, Region, and Area level to attain All-State Membership, which is the highest honor that a Texas music student can receive. Bryton was invited to rehearse with the other All-State musicians at this year’s Texas Music Educators Association Convention. At the conclusion of the convention, the All-State Jazz Band performed a concert, under the direction of nationally-lauded trombonist Vincent Gardner, for thousands of attendees. The event took place February 9-12 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Bryton is a Senior at Brazoswood High School and this is his second time to receive All-State Honors. He was previously named to the All-State Jazz Band in the 2020-2021 school year. This year, he placed first in the state.

The Texas Music Educators Association is an association of over 13,500 school music educators dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. Go to www.tmea.org for more information.
