This is the image for the news article titled BISD Board Unanimously Approves 4% Salary Increase for all BISD EmployeesThe Brazosport ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a 4% district-wide salary increase, based on midpoint, for all employees during the April 25, 2022 board meeting. BISD and the Board of Trustees understand the value of each and every employee in the district. Every employee’s role plays a part in overall student success. We appreciate the daily dedication and commitment that each BISD employee exhibits that allows our district to continue to set the standard in educational excellence!

The 4% salary increase will provide an annual increase for teachers in the amount of $2,500.  In addition to salary increase, returning teachers will receive a $1,200 retention stipend in September 2022. The Board of Trustees approved the new teacher retention stipends at the February 2022 meeting as a way to show appreciation for our outstanding and dedicated teachers and their continued commitment to our students, community and district!

The 2022-2023 starting teacher salary for first year teachers at Brazosport ISD will increase by $2,000, for an annual starting salary of $59,000.

“In BISD, we believe that recruiting and retaining the very best educators is instrumental in ensuring the continued success of our students as they receive the highest quality education possible. Our students deserve the very best, and we will continually strive to provide highly effective educators for every campus!” stated Superintendent Danny Massey.

In addition to competitive salaries, Brazosport ISD continues to set the standard and lead the way with academic, athletic and critical needs stipends which supports Brazosport ISD’s goal to recruit, develop and retain highly effective staff.

Also new this year, the district will be issuing a new hire stipend for teachers joining the district for the 2022-2023 school year. All newly hired classroom teachers will receive a $1,000 New Hire stipend! As another method to attract top talent to our area, newly hired classroom teachers relocating within 50 miles of the district will be issued a $3,000 relocation stipend.
