The team of Jase Sandefur, Josh Warren, Colton Reich and Avery White walked away from the State FFA competition 5th in the state.
The Brazoswood Future Farmers of America (FFA) Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems team competed at Sam Houston State University and took first place in both district and Area, becoming a state qualifier.
This years’ theme is ‘Confined Animal Feeding Operations.’ The contest comprises of a 100-question test over agricultural mechanics, a team activity and three hands-on skills in Environmental & Natural Resources Skill Area: Surveying, Drainage & Waste Management, Machinery & Equipment Systems Skill: Skid Steers, Structural Systems Skill Area: Welding & Oxyfuel Cutting.
Chase Watson, Agricultural Science Teacher at Brazoswood High School expressed his appreciation for the team, “These students are the epitome of a team. They have accomplished so much this year in learning skills not only for this year but for life beyond their high school career. They work decisively as a team and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Henry Ford once said ‘Working together is success’ and they have become the perfect example of this. I wish every one of them the best in their future to come and they are one amazing team that will be missed.”
