The Brazoswood FFA Tractor Technician team qualified for state competition at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The Area contest was held in Huntsville on Friday February 11th, 2022 where all three team members were top 10 high point individuals.
Brazoswood will be one of 36 teams that advances to the state competition. The contest consists of two individual sections: a 100 question test and 100 questions over 20 tractor components. The final section is team-based, where the team is given a brand new tractor with five bugs/problems with the tractor.
The team must find the bugs/problems, diagnose why they are the problem, fix them, and drive the tractor. The Tractor Technician team consists of team members Jase Sandefur, Joshua Warren and Colton Reich. The State competition is a two day event starting on March 13th. The first day the team will have the two individual sections( the quiz and components). If they place in the top 10 scores of the quiz and components, then they will be invited back for the second day to debug the tractor. Scholarships and tools are both up for grabs for the team members.
