In a proactive measure to further enhance our safety protocols, Brazosport ISD is proud to announce the successful installation of CrisisAlert™ in all of our schools.
CENTEGIX CrisisAlert™ is a state-of-the-art badge system that enables school staff to discreetly and efficiently communicate requests for help from anywhere on campus. Unlike conventional methods, the CrisisAlert™ badge requires no additional app downloads on personal mobile phones, operates independently on a secure private network, and does not rely on Wi-Fi or cellular signals. This cutting-edge solution equips the staff with the tools needed to respond swiftly to medical emergencies, behavioral incidents, and various everyday safety concerns.
With the CrisisAlert™ Staff Alert feature, staff members can effortlessly trigger an alert by pressing the button on their badge, immediately notifying designated school responders. The CrisisAlert™ system simultaneously provides responders with a detailed map of the school, pinpointing the exact location of the staff member in need, ensuring quick and precise assistance.
Moreover, CrisisAlert™ includes a campus-wide alert functionality, designed to swiftly communicate a potential threat across the entire campus. Leveraging a combination of audio and visual notifications, strobe lights flash, beeps resonate in every room and hallway, instructional messages appear on devices connected to the school's network, and an intercom message is broadcasted. Just like the Staff Alert, CENTEGIX® promptly delivers the Campus-Wide Alert to school responders, accompanied by a comprehensive map of the triggered alert's location. Additionally, when a campus wide alert is initiated, all local law enforcement police agencies are immediately notified of the alert.
To ensure preparedness and familiarity with the CrisisAlert™ system, students and staff participate in periodic drills, enabling a quick and coordinated response during an actual emergency. In the event of a campus or district crisis, parents would be notified and updated through the district’s mass notification system via email, text and phone call.
"CrisisAlert™ is an additional measure that Brazosport ISD is taking to fortify safety measures for all our students and staff," stated BISD Safety Director Ty Morrow. "The system's effectiveness and ease of use provide our staff with the confidence and peace of mind necessary to maintain a secure learning environment."
“The implementation of CENTEGIX CrisisAlert™ solution underscores BISD's unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and secure educational environment for everyone in our community. By embracing cutting-edge technology and fostering a culture of preparedness, BISD continues to set a remarkable standard in ensuring student and staff safety,” said Superintendent Danny Massey.
