Katy Gipson - T.W. Ogg Elementary Counselor
Katy Gipson has been in education for twelve years, nine being in Brazosport ISD. She began as an elementary teacher prior to becoming a Professional School Counselor. When asked what her favorite thing is about being a school counselor, Ms. Gipson shared. “There are so many small moments throughout the day where everyone has an opportunity to make someone’s day a little better… a little brighter. Being in the counseling position naturally lends itself to allowing me to be that for more than just one class. I love seeing students grow and become better versions of themselves. Learning how to be around people who are similar and different from ourselves is just as important as the academic part of education. Also- I have the BEST assistant Denver I love being able to share the joy and love an animal can bring to our school family. He provides unconditional love no matter what kind of day anyone is having. He’s still going to be happy to see you and wants to lay his big ol’ head in your lap if you have time to sit with him!”

Jasmine Jones - Brazosport High School Counselor
Jasmine Jones has been in education for 21 years, eighteen of which have been as a Professional School Counselor. Prior to becoming a counselor, she was a high school English teacher. Her favorite thing about being a school counselor is helping high school students discover their dreams, hopes, and goals. She enjoys being their advocate, their cheerleader, and getting them across the finish line to graduation with a plan in place for their future. When asked what she wishes all her students knew, Mrs. Jones shared, “It’s not where you start, but where you finish...”
