Students Earn National Recognition at JEA/NSPA Journalism Convention

Junior Shaylin Stone earned an Excellent rating for her Feature Photography Portfolio, one of only 28 students nationwide to achieve this honor out of over 900 entries. Sophomore Adelina McEntire also stood out, receiving an Honorable Mention in the highly competitive First-Year Photographer contest, with only 38 students receiving this distinction.

In addition to these awards, juniors Harper Nichols and Kate Morris represented Brazoswood as presenters at the convention. They spoke to a packed room of nearly 100 students and advisers, sharing their session "How to Train Your Yearbook Staff in One Week," offering valuable insights to peers and professionals from across the country.

"We are incredibly proud of our students for not only competing at the national level but also for leading and inspiring others," said Lela Siegel, adviser for Brazoswood’s journalism program. "Their achievements reflect the talent, hard work, and passion they bring to everything they do."
