Brazosport ISD is proud to celebrate Love the Bus Month throughout February, recognizing the dedicated school bus drivers and transportation staff who safely deliver students to and from school each day.
Each morning before sunrise and each afternoon after the final bell rings, BISD bus drivers serve as the first and last school representatives many students see. Beyond transportation, they provide friendly greetings, reassuring smiles, and a consistent presence that helps students start and end their day on a positive note.
BISD’s Transportation Department plays a vital role in supporting student success by ensuring safe, reliable service across the district. Drivers navigate busy roads, changing weather, and tight schedules, all while prioritizing student safety and well-being.
“Our bus drivers do so much more than drive a route,” said Angel Kersten, BISD Director of Transportation. “They build relationships with students, keep safety at the forefront of everything they do, and take great pride in being part of each child’s school day. Love the Bus Month is a special opportunity to recognize their hard work and the care they show our students every single day.”
Families and campuses are encouraged to join the celebration by sharing notes of appreciation, kind words, or simple thank-yous with their bus drivers throughout the month.
“Love the Bus” Month is observed nationwide each February as a way to highlight the essential role school transportation professionals play in education and student safety.
