Nine BISD Students Earn DUKE Talent Identification Program Awards

This is the image for the news article titled Nine BISD Students Earn DUKE Talent Identification Program AwardsBrazosport ISD is proud to announce that Lake Jackson Intermediate school had 9 students earn grand or state recognition by the Duke TIP (Talent Identification Program) for their scores on the ACT or SAT exams.

Hannah Fey, received grand recognition for earning scores on her Reading ACT that were equal to or better than 90 percent of college-bound seniors who took the same test. She will be invited to Duke University for a reception, honoring her for her achievement.

The following BISD students qualified for state recognition earning a score at or better than the national average of recent high school graduates on the ACT or SAT. These students will be invited to a Texas university for a reception.

Rowan Davenport - SAT Evidenced Based Reading and Writing
Erin Dy - ACT Science and English

DUKE TIP Awards Group Picture

Duke TIP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented students. The national seventh-grade talent search identifies, recognizes and supports high-performing students. Through Duke TIP, these students receive college prep enrichments and tools.

Candidates are invited to take the ACT or the SAT college entrance exams as seventh graders, which allows them greater insight into their academic abilities. In addition, they gain valuable benefits and have access to unique resources for gifted students.
