On Monday May 9, the Brazoria County Petrochemical Council conducted its 4th Annual Career Signing Day. Even with the program being in only its fourth year, it has  reached new heights… conducting 280 interviews in late April for 70 students in Brazoria County and eventually helping find 48 jobs with contracting organizations operating in Brazoria County and throughout the Greater Houston Area.

Brazosport ISD was honored to have 22 students represented in the Career Signing Day Class of 2022. Brazosport was recognized with 14 students and Brazoswood was recognized with having 8 students in this year's class. Two students enrolled in BISD’s partnership with Brazosport College’s Catalyst Program and were featured during the event, as well as three students from the award winning Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Industrial Craft Competition (ICC) Project.

“We are excited to see all of these students start their careers and be honored during this amazing event,” said Resource Development Coordinator Aaron Ennis. “Events and outreaches like the BCPC Career Signing Day make Career & Technical Education stronger and more inviting to parents, future students and partnering organizations.”

This year's signing day featured the program's first business pathway student Jocelyn Hernandez and Summa Cum Laude Hannah Deleon, both from Brazosport High School. Jocelyn will be working for Versa Integrity within their business group and Hannah will be interning with Woods project controls department this summer before enrolling in the University of Texas in the fall.
