“As a campus, we are elated with the accountability results from this past year,” says BSA Principal Fred Brown. “As a staff we work diligently to remove barriers that allow our students the freedom to rise to excellence”.

Brazos Success Academy (BSA) is a campus that was created to better serve Brazosport ISD students who prefer non-conventional methods of obtaining their high school diploma. The campus currently serves 110 students in grades 9 through 12. Some students attend to seek early graduation or to make up lost credits, while others attend seeking flexible scheduling or night school. The campus has a high percentage of students at-risk of dropping out of school, which makes achieving a perfect score in the accountability an even more remarkable feat.

“We are proud to offer a variety of opportunities for our students to have success,” shares BISD Superintendent Danny Massey. “A perfect accountability rating is evidence that no matter the challenges, our staff believes each student can learn at high levels.”

“Brazos Success Academy provides our students with amazing opportunities and has an incredible staff and Administration,”  Assistant Superintendent Richard Yoes stated. “The work Mr. Brown and the teachers at BSA have undertaken and accomplished makes all of us proud. Thanks to their hard work, students that might not otherwise graduate walk across the stage to a bright future!”

In 2019, the last time the Texas Education Agency released official ratings, Brazos Success Academy was rated as a C. They are one of only 40 campuses in Region 4 that moved from a C letter-grade to an A this year. The campus was recently recognized by the Commissioner of Education in a meeting with Region IV Superintendents for this accomplishment.

“It has been an all-hands-on-deck approach at BSA. No matter the title or position of the adults in the building, student success drives our actions,” Principal Brown noted.
