This is the image for the news article titled BISD Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week with ProclamationAs the demand for highly qualified teachers continues to increase nationwide, Brazosport ISD has been a forerunner in implementing programs to help equip and assist individuals who have a passion and desire to teach. One of the programs the district recently implemented provides teacher apprenticeships in partnership with Brazosport College and INSPIRE TEXAS | Educator Certification by Region 4. This program not only provides potential teachers with onramps and a roadmap to becoming a teacher, it assists them financially with college tuition costs and training; while also allowing them to earn a paycheck for their time spent in the classroom learning from highly qualified teachers.

In celebration of apprenticeships as it relates to the educational profession, BISD Superintendent Danny Massey signed and the district submitted a proclamation for National Apprenticeship Week. This week, which is held on November 14-20, 2022, is an annual nationally-recognized moment to showcase the important role that apprenticeships can have on the student experience.
