This summer, Brazosport ISD is once again bringing books, free meals, and community connections directly to neighborhoods across the district through the BISD Book Bus and Meals on the Move programs.
Children and teens can hop aboard the BISD Book Bus, our district’s Library on Wheels, to explore books and keep reading skills growing all summer long. The Book Bus travels throughout Jones Creek, Freeport, Clute, Richwood, and Lake Jackson, making stops at apartment complexes, day care facilities, and select BISD campuses to help provide easy access to books for students and families.
In addition to the summer reading activities, BISD Child Nutrition’s Meals on the Move program will provide free breakfast and lunch meals for children from June 1 through July 2, 2026 at community locations across the district. These programs work together to help keep students nourished, engaged, and connected throughout the summer.
Students of all ages are encouraged to visit the Book Bus, explore books, and participate in activities at participating locations. In addition, BISD Child Nutrition’s Meals on the Move program will provide free meals for all children ages 0–18. Community partnerships and donations continue to help expand the program and place more books into the hands of young readers each year.
Brazosport ISD is proud to continue these efforts to support learning, literacy, and student success beyond the classroom. See the flyers below for specific dates, times, and locations for both the Book Bus and Meals on the Move. We hope to see you this summer as they hit the road once again to serve our community!
