DownBeat Magazine is one of the premier publications in jazz education and performance, and its annual Student Music Awards recognize exceptional middle school, high school, and college-level musicians and ensembles nationwide.
“We are incredibly proud of the dedication, musicianship, and teamwork this group continues to demonstrate,” said Brazoswood High School Percussion Director Jeremiah Jones. “This recognition from DownBeat reflects the level of excellence our students strive for every day, and it is an honor to see their hard work recognized on a national stage.”
In addition to the national recognition, each student member of the ensemble received a printed copy of the magazine, along with individual awards that were distributed earlier this week.
This honor reflects the continued excellence of Brazoswood student musicians and the commitment of the Brazoswood High School band program to providing high-level performance opportunities and meaningful musical experiences for students.
