The Brazosport Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted the district's 2026 tax rate during its regular meeting on September 21.
The adopted tax rate is $0.8907 per $100 of taxable property value. The rate includes:
- $0.6754 for maintenance and operations, which supports daily district operations and educational programs.
- $0.2153 for debt service.
Brazosport ISD has reduced its maintenance and operations tax rate by more than 35 cents over the past seven years. The district also received a perfect 100 A rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System from the Texas Education Agency again this year.
BISD Superintendent Danny Massey stated, “Adopting this tax rate along with a perfect Financial Integrity rating is evidence of our school board being excellent stewards of taxpayer dollars.”
The adopted tax rate supports BISD's 2026–27 budget, which provides funding for educational programming, daily operations, and debt service.
