At School Learning FAQs Español

Students in BISD will have the opportunity to attend schools and receive instruction via face-to-face format for the 2020-2021 school year. This scenario will include a blended instructional platform that involves in-person instruction as well as the use of Google Classroom (district-wide) for specific instructional areas. This will ensure that students are familiar with the virtual platform in the event we have to quickly switch to an all-virtual setting.

Several operational considerations have been identified to prevent and mitigate the viral spread inside the school setting during face-to-face instruction. These considerations are outlined in previous sections of this document.

Additionally:

  • Students in grades PK-4 will have a designated homeroom teacher.
  • Students in grades 5-8 (middle/intermediate) and 9-12 (high school) will have a unique campus schedule.
  • Continuity in personalized support for students with specialized needs/services (i.e., special education, 504, English Learners, etc.) will be provided appropriately within the face to face or virtual environment as determined by each individual student's documented plan.
Changing from At Home to At School Learning or At School to At Home Learning
The selection of a learning environment is for a minimum of one nine week grading period. Changing of a learning environment will not occur in the middle of a grading period. Exceptions in the best interest of the students may be approved by campus principals subject to availability.
