Brazosport ISD Reflects on Bond Election Outcome, Focuses on Moving Forward

Brazosport ISD regrets to announce that the bond referendum held on May 3, 2025 did not receive the necessary voter approval. The proposal included two separate propositions: Proposition A, which received 1,595 votes in favor and 1,720 against, and Proposition B, which received 1,602 votes in favor and 1,702 against.

While we are disappointed by the outcome, we are grateful for the many parents, staff, students, and community members who engaged in the process, shared their voices, and cast their votes. We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the bond and helped raise awareness of the district’s needs.

Despite the election results, there is, and will continue to be, so much to celebrate across BISD. Our students, teachers, and staff are achieving great things every day, and we are proud to champion their successes. We are committed to learning from this experience and making thoughtful adjustments to ensure that we continue providing a high-quality education for all students.

Brazosport ISD Board of Trustees Call for $167 Million Bond Election - No Tax Rate Increase

On January 13, the Brazosport ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved moving forward with a $167 million bond program for districtwide improvements. The bond program, which will be placed on the May 3, 2025 election ballot, addresses critical infrastructure, student safety, and enhanced learning environments without increasing the district’s tax rate. Superintendent Danny Massey expressed gratitude for the community's collaboration and the School Board's leadership, "This bond program reflects the shared vision and commitment of our community to provide the best educational opportunities for our students. We are proud to propose a plan that addresses critical needs while respecting our taxpayers by maintaining a flat tax rate."

The election will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 with early voting beginning April 22, 2025. You can find a list of Early Voting locations and times listed below or on the Brazoria County Clerk’s website.
