Joe Bohon

Joe BohonBrazosport ISD is excited to announce Joe Bohon, Brazosport High School Class of 1997, as the 2025 recipient of the BISD Wall of Fame award! This prestigious award honors graduates who have excelled in their careers, demonstrated exceptional service, and shown unwavering leadership, particularly in ways that strengthen their communities.

A lifelong resident of southern Brazoria County, Joe –known by his close friends and family as Joey- has dedicated his career and personal time to supporting local youth and empowering BISD students. Through his leadership on the Brazoria County Petrochemical Council (BCPC) Workforce Development Committee, he has helped provide meaningful career opportunities for Career & Technical Education (CTE) students, including orchestrating Career Signing Day events, sponsoring the Dow “Adopt-a-Teacher” program for educators at Lanier and Freeport Intermediate, and providing site tours for students at Dow Texas Operations.

According to Aaron Ennis, “Joe has always been a proud product of BISD and a lifelong contributor to our community. His professional success, along with his dedication to supporting BISD students and families, makes him a true role model.” Renee Schuster echoed that sentiment, adding, “Joe exemplifies everything the BISD Wall of Fame stands for—excellence, leadership, and service. He has accomplished so much in his career while consistently giving back to the schools and community that shaped him.”

Joe’s professional career complements his community service. As Senior Site Manufacturing Director for Dow Texas Operations, Dow’s largest manufacturing site worldwide, he leads initiatives that drive sustainability, operational excellence, and employee development. He also serves as a Site Emergency Manager, sponsors various employee resource groups such as TXO RISE, TXO HLN, and the Texas Admin Success Team. Through these efforts, Joe combines innovation with a steadfast commitment to the region that shaped him, creating opportunities that benefit both the workforce and the broader community.

Beyond his professional and educational leadership, Joe is a passionate mentor and volunteer. He coaches Brazoswood Little League teams, serves as a “Bronco Dad” at Bess Brannen Elementary, and supports BISD athletics as a season ticket holder for the Exporters and Buccaneers. Joe also shares his love of fishing with family, volunteering with the Texas CCA STAR Tournament and is a long time participant in Freeport’s Fishin’ Fiesta.

Superintendent Danny Massey praised Joe, saying, “Joe Bohon demonstrates what it means to be a leader both in the workplace and in the community. His dedication to BISD students and southern Brazoria County goes hand-in-hand with his professional accomplishments, making him a truly inspiring example for current and future generations.”

Joe’s journey began in BISD, where he completed all 12 years of his education, graduating with honors and ranking third in his class. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and returned to Brazoria County to begin his career at Dow as a third-generation employee, building a legacy of innovation, leadership, and community impact.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to be recognized as a BISD Wall of Fame recipient and join the ranks of so many outstanding Exporters before me,” expressed Joe Bohon. “This acknowledgement means the world to me and I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me, challenged me, and encouraged me along the way. Your support has helped shape the person I am today. I will always carry immense pride in being a Brazosport Exporter – once an Exporter, always an Exporter! Thank you, BISD, for this incredible honor.”
