Brazoswood High School is proud to announce that two talented student artists have been named finalists in the 2026 “I Am Texas” Art & Writing Contest.
Congratulations to Kennedy Unger and Brooklynn Ustynik, whose artworks were selected as part of this year’s group of finalists, representing students from across Texas. Both students were May 2026 Brazoswood High School Graduates, creating and submitting their Artwork last school year under the direction of Art Teacher, Emily Espeche.
The “I Am Texas” Art & Writing Contest, presented by The Bryan Museum, celebrates Texas students and their unique perspectives on what it means to be Texan. Each year, students are invited to express their experiences, ideas, and connections to Texas through art and writing.
As 2026 finalists, Kennedy and Brooklynn will have their artwork published and displayed at The Bryan Museum as part of the finalist exhibition. Their artwork will be exhibited alongside the work of other talented student finalists from throughout the state.
The selection as a finalist is a significant accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of these students for representing Brazoswood High School and Brazosport ISD at the state level.
The contest’s top award winners are expected to be announced in September 2026.
