Students from Brazosport and Brazoswood High Schools recently participated in the annual Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE), earning Superior ratings and All-Area recognition for their artwork.
A total of 130 BISD students participated in the Regional VASE Event, earning 103 Superior ratings, with three Brazoswood High School artworks advancing to the State VASE Competition.
The Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) is the Texas Art Education Association’s UIL equivalent visual arts competition, offering students statewide the opportunity to submit original artwork for professional-level evaluation.
In other BISD Visual Arts news, art teachers Danielle Lin and Emily Espeche were awarded grants to enhance instruction and expand student access to new digital tools and resources.
Coming up in April, graduating seniors from Brazosport ISD will participate in the annual Bruce Good Scholarship Show, hosted by the Brazosport Art League. Each student will display a collection of six artworks, which will be voted on by Brazosport Art League members, with the opportunity to earn college scholarships. The exhibit will be held at The Center for the Arts and Sciences from April 28 through May 3. An awards reception will be held on May 3, 2026, from 2-4:00 PM.
Through classroom instruction, competitions, and public exhibitions, Brazosport ISD provides opportunities for students to develop skills in the visual arts and share their work beyond the classroom. Congratulations to these students and teachers for their continued efforts and accomplishments.
