The talented students of the Brazosport Anchor and Flame BBQ Team recently competed in Burnet, Texas, on Saturday, May 3, and brought home State Champion Awards in Ribs and Chili, as well as an impressive 9th place in Brisket. Their overall performance earned them 11th place out of 115 teams from across the state of Texas!
Next up for these champions is Kansas City, KS where they’ll compete in the prestigious National BBQ Competition from June 2-7, 2025, putting their skills to the test against top BBQ teams from around the nation.
A huge congratulations to these outstanding students and their dedicated coaches, Chef Kristian Mahalitc, Mike Fojtik, and Jay Collins, for their hard work and success. We can’t wait to see what they achieve next!
