Honoring 44 Years of Dedication: Celebrating Graciela Villareal
Brazosport ISD is honored to celebrate Graciela “Grace” Villareal for her remarkable service to our district over the past 44 years!
As the Lead Custodian at Madge Griffith Elementary, Grace is the heart and soul of the campus, leaving a lasting impression on students and staff alike. She began her journey with BISD in the kitchen at Brazoswood High School and has since worked at Lake Jackson Intermediate and Rasco Middle School before joining the Madge Griffith family.
When asked about the key to her success, Grace humbly shared, “God is great, and every morning I pray for the students and teachers at Madge Griffith Elementary.” Her uplifting spirit and deep commitment to the well-being of others are evident in everything she does.
“Grace plays music every morning for the kids and is always welcoming and positive with the students,” said Mrs. Ham, reflecting on Grace’s positive influence at the school. “She is also known for her thoughtful gestures, like making popcorn and lemonade for the teachers, often on Wednesdays.”
Grace shared that the students and staff of Griffith Elementary are like her family. Her decades of service, unwavering support, and uplifting spirit have touched the lives of many. Thank you Grace for your outstanding dedication and service to the community and students in BISD!
Honoring 48 Years of Service: Celebrating Regina Bishop
Brazosport ISD is honored to recognize Mrs. Regina Bishop for 48 years of dedication to the district. A proud graduate of Brazoswood High School’s first graduating class in 1971, where she was a twirler, Regina's journey has come full circle as she continues to serve BISD today.
After graduating from Southwest Texas State University in just three years, Regina returned to BISD in 1975, beginning her teaching career in Bilingual Kindergarten at Velasco Elementary. She then spent 27 years at T.W. Ogg Elementary, where she taught 3rd grade, bilingual 1st grade, and pull-out programs for reading and ESL.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Mrs. Bishop was dedicated to adult education, teaching ESL and GED courses at Brazosport College for 15 years at night. After 30 years in elementary education, she transitioned to secondary education, teaching in the credit recovery program at The Lighthouse for 10 years.
Though Mrs. Bishop retired after 40 years, her passion for education called her back to BISD. Today, she is making a difference at Brazos Success Academy, continuing to inspire and support students.
Thank you, Regina Bishop, for your lifelong dedication to BISD and the countless students and families whose lives you’ve touched. Your commitment to excellence in education is truly remarkable!
Celebrating 45 Years of Service: Honoring Roger Rosales
Brazosport ISD proudly celebrates Roger Rosales for his dedicated service to our district for 45 years and counting! Roger began his journey in 1979 in the Maintenance Department, where he honed his skills as a master painter for 44 years. After a brief retirement, he returned to continue his invaluable work within the district.
Beyond his impressive tenure, Roger is a beacon of positivity for everyone he meets. His commitment to education runs deep; all four of his children graduated from BISD, and his six grandchildren currently attend or have attended schools in the district.
Reflecting on his time in BISD, Roger shared that he has seen a lot of his paintings go down with the old buildings, but he is happy to see them go since the kids now have great new buildings to get an education in.
His uplifting attitude and passion for improving the educational environment inspire us all! Thank you, Roger Rosales, for your unwavering dedication and the positive impact you’ve made over the past 45 years!
