The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has announced that Brazosport ISD has once again achieved a perfect score of 100 in the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). Since the state launched the rating system in 2001, BISD has consistently earned the highest possible rating, reaffirming its commitment to financial transparency and responsible management.
The FIRST rating evaluates school districts on 21 financial indicators, including administrative cost expenditures, the accuracy of financial reporting to TEA, compliance with debt obligations, long-term debt ratios, and solvency-related measures. This rigorous assessment ensures that districts responsibly manage public funds while minimizing financial risks.
Newly appointed Chief Financial Officer Ludivina "Ludi" Cansino reaffirmed her commitment to continuing the district’s long-standing record of financial excellence saying, "It is a privilege to step into this role at a district with such a remarkable history of fiscal responsibility. This perfect score reflects the dedication of our team, and I am committed to ensuring we uphold this standard while prioritizing the success of every student."
