Funded through the community’s overwhelming support of the district’s $267 million bond referendum, this state-of-the-art facility embodies BISD’s mission to equip students with the skills and experiences needed for future success. “This building will have something for every student,” Superintendent Danny Massey shared during the event, “supporting their variety of interests and offering an environment that ignites a passion for learning and connection.”

Built with industry collaboration and future workforce demands in mind, the facility houses a variety of programs designed to promote hands-on learning, help students discover their unique talents and passions, and prepare graduates for a broad range of careers and postsecondary opportunities. These programs include advanced manufacturing and machinery mechanics, robotics, animal science, applied agricultural engineering, architectural design, business management, carpentry and construction, culinary arts, cosmetology, design and multimedia arts, audio and visual digital communications, environmental and wildlife science, healthcare and nursing, teaching and education training, plant science, and welding labs.

BISD’s core belief that students find purpose through school connections comes to life through these programs and their associated student organizations. Competitive events, conferences, and hands-on experiences foster a sense of belonging and purpose, motivating students to graduate ready for college or a career.

The CTE Center’s strength lies not only in its infrastructure but in its exceptional educators. “Our outstanding teachers inspire and guide students with deep expertise and a commitment to excellence,” Massey noted. “Their work transforms lives, opening doors to endless possibilities and making a lasting impact on our community.”

Massey recognized the efforts of project partners who helped bring the CTE Center to life ahead of schedule and under budget. Originally scheduled for completion in January 2025, the facility instead opened in August, just in time for the start of the school year — a testament to the collaboration and commitment of all involved. He thanked VLK Architects, Drymalla Construction, and the BISD staff whose contributions made this achievement possible. Special recognition went to Brazosport High School Principal Quinton Virgil and his campus team for their hard work and dedication in preparing the center for students.

This endeavor would not be possible without the district’s strong partnerships with local industries. Massey expressed heartfelt thanks to key supporters, including Dow, BASF, Freeport LNG, and Marquis, as well as contractors Apache, Contech, KCG, Ferguson, Wood, Sorrell Construction, Top Coat Fabrication, Southern Gulf Solutions, Norrell Construction, Spectrum Camera Solutions, and Wood. “Collaborative partnerships are vital to strengthening the learning experience,” he emphasized.

The Brazosport CTE Center exemplifies the power of collaboration, vision, and community investment in education. As Superintendent Massey concluded, “To our incredible students, this building stands as a testament to our belief in your limitless potential. Like we always say, ‘From here, anything is possible.’”
