Brazosport Independent School District Human Resources Team recently hosted its annual baby shower, celebrating the district’s expectant and adopting staff members. Held on March 5, 2025, the heartwarming event welcomed parents-to-be, recognizing both moms and dads as they prepare for the arrival of their tiny miracles.
Superintendent Danny Massey shared the district’s enthusiasm, stating, “There is nothing greater in life than welcoming a new child into the world, and into your home. It is an honor to stand beside our staff members as they take this exciting step into parenthood.”
A highlight of the event was the generosity of the district’s community partners, whose thoughtful contributions made the celebration even more special. Every expectant staff member was given a BISD onesie, plush baby toy, sippy cups, books, and other helpful items to support them on their parenting journey. Drawings were held to gift generous donations from local businesses. Special thanks to Gigi’s cupcakes, Body by Marie, Pretty Pilates and Picking Daisies for their generous gift cards.
Adding to the celebration, students from the district’s CTE culinary program prepared a beautiful spread adding a variety of freshly prepared hors d’oeuvres, savory bites, and an assortment of sweet treats.
Attendees also gained valuable insights into parental well-being, benefits enrollment, and leave policies. Dr. Adum and Amy Payne, NP, both from UTMB spoke about “what to expect” providing very helpful information and allowed for questions as well. One of the district's benefits account managers was on hand to assist with medical and voluntary insurance. She also contributed a pack-n-play and bassinet to a lucky winner of the drawing. A NextLevel PRIME representative was also in attendance and provided giveaways and great information about how PRIME can be utilized to support the health of parent and baby. We are grateful for the support of both UTMB and NextLevel for this special event.
Rachel Arthur, a Director of Benefits and Wellness in HR, expressed her appreciation, saying, “This event is a special way for us to celebrate and support our BISD family. We are grateful to our community partners for their generosity and to our talented culinary students for making the day extra special.”
Congratulations to each of these staff members on this exciting new chapter. We look forward to welcoming the newest members of the BISD family and celebrating the joy they will bring in the months ahead.
