
The Brazosport Independent School District is seeking applications to fill the vacancy of Trustee District 6, following the resignation of Scott Schwertner. An individual will be appointed by the Brazosport ISD Board Members to fill the vacant position until the next election on May 3, 2027.
Persons interested in being considered for appointment to the Board must meet eligibility requirements and complete an application form. Applications can be submitted online through the link below or picked up from the Brazosport ISD Business Office located at 301 W. Brazoswood Dr., Clute, Texas 7753.

Board Member Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must reside within the boundaries of District 6.
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have not been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
- Have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities.
- Have resided continuously in the state for 12 months and in the territory from 6 months from the date the appointment is made. Be registered to vote.
Following a review of the submitted applications, the BISD Board Members will schedule interviews for selected qualified candidates.
