The Brazoswood Boys Track and Field team delivered an outstanding performance at the UIL Area Meet, earning advancement to the UIL Region III-6A Track & Field Championships.
A total of six Brazoswood athletes qualified for the regional meet -the largest group of qualifiers from Brazoswood in the past two decades.
The Buccaneers were led by their record-breaking relay team of Axel Aguilar, Kaison Thomas, Brady Faulkner, and Nathan Moore. The group made program history by breaking a 16-year-old school record in the 4x200-meter relay. They also continued their strong season in the 4x100-meter relay, resetting their own school record once again.
Additional regional qualifiers include Rajeh Elyussef in pole vault, Brayden Smith in the 3200-meter run, and Nathan Moore in the 200-meter dash.
The UIL Region III-6A Track & Field Championships will be held May 1–2 at Challenger Columbia Stadium in Webster, where these athletes will compete against the top performers from across the region.
“What these athletes have accomplished is truly special—a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence,” said Coach Cody Glenn. “The support from our community has been incredible. Seeing board members and our Superintendent in the stands cheering them on shows how proud we are to represent Brazoswood. We are truly fortunate to wear Brazoswood across our chest.”
