Brazoswood High School Lady Buc Soccer has been named the recipient of the 2026 Grant Teaff Beyond the Game Team Award, earning a $5,000 grant from the Grant Teaff Foundation in recognition of outstanding community service and leadership beyond the field. The award honors high school athletic programs that demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, and service to their communities. Brazoswood’s Lady Buc Soccer Program stood out for its dedication to serving others while building teamwork and leadership skills.
Under Coach Kimberly Blank’s guidance, the Lady Buc Soccer Program engaged in a wide range of service initiatives, including volunteering at the local SPCA, supporting nursing home events, organizing donations for BISD’s Stuff the Bus, partnering with the Brazosport Junior Service League, and assisting with numerous district and community events. Collectively, student-athletes contributed hundreds of hours of service while making a positive difference in the Brazosport community.
"We are incredibly grateful to be recognized with the Grant Teaff Beyond the Game Team Award,” Coach Blank said. “Lady Buc Soccer is built on a foundation of servant leadership, and I am so proud of the way our athletes choose to lead with character, serve with purpose and show up for others in meaningful ways. This award reflects a culture that believes in using athletics as a platform to make a difference instilling empathy, compassion and a commitment to leaving our community better than we found it."
The Lady Bucs will be celebrated at the 2026 Texas Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on April 18, 2026, joining some of the state’s most accomplished athletes and coaches. The team will also receive year-round recognition on the Grant Teaff Beyond the Game digital display at the Hall of Fame.
The Grant Teaff Beyond the Game Team Award, presented annually by the Grant Teaff Foundation and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame with support from the Texas High School Coaches Association, the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association, and Dave Campbell’s Texas Sports, honors Texas high school teams that make a meaningful impact in their communities.
