Brazosport Independent School District has been named a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT), recognizing districts that demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to preparing students for success through high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. BISD is one of only 71 school districts across Texas—out of more than 1,000 independent school districts statewide—to earn this elite distinction as part of the 2026 CTE Districts of Distinction honorees.
The recognition celebrates districts that excel across 12 proven criteria, including industry-based certifications, graduation rates, internships and apprenticeships, teacher professional development, and community partnerships.
BISD’s CTE programs deliver real-world, industry-aligned pathways that equip students with academic and technical skills for life beyond graduation. Through strategic use of CTE funding, robust business and community partnerships, ongoing teacher training, and a culture of continuous improvement, BISD ensures every student gains valuable credentials, workplace experience, and the confidence to be future ready—whether entering college, a career, or the military.
BISD’s CTE offerings span a wide range of programs from welding, health science, and culinary arts to carpentry, robotics, business, engineering, and digital media—supported by active Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and hands-on internships that open doors to future success.
Superintendent Danny Massey shared, “This honor is a testament to our outstanding teachers, counselors, and leaders who go above and beyond—and to our CTE students, whose real-world, hands-on learning earns record certifications, fuels strong graduation rates, and opens doors to careers right after high school or advanced college paths.”
