Brazosport ISD kicked off the 2025-2026 Community Ambassador program early October, welcoming around 25 community members for the first of four sessions planned throughout the school year. Now in its 11th year, the program offers local leaders and stakeholders the opportunity to gain an inside look at the people, programs, and priorities that make BISD unique.
During the opening session, the group got an overview on the district’s vision, mission, and goals, as well as a closer look at key areas such as safety and security, student wellbeing, and human resources initiatives—including the district’s commitment to “growing our own” future teachers.
Ambassadors shared their own stories of connection to BISD. Several noted that they are proud products of the district who moved away after graduation but later “boomeranged” back—wanting their children to experience the same strong education and close-knit community they valued growing up.
“We are grateful for our Community Ambassadors and their commitment to learning more about our district,” Superintendent Danny Massey shared. “Their passion for our schools speaks to the lasting impact of a Brazosport ISD education.”
The yearlong program continues with upcoming sessions highlighting extracurricular opportunities, hands-on tours of Career and Technical Education facilities (including a lunch prepared by culinary arts students), elementary education, school funding, and the work of the BISD Education Foundation.
With every session, participants gain a deeper understanding of the district’s mission to graduate each student to be future ready, while building strong partnerships that benefit the entire community.
