Competing against 45 teams from across the region, the Brazoswood Culinary Arts team demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity, and professionalism throughout the competition. Their performance earned them a third-place overall finish, along with a brand-new knife kit and $1,500 in scholarships. Students had the incredible honor of meeting and being awarded by Kristen Kish, renowned chef, restaurateur, winner of Top Chef season 10, and current host of the series.

The team includes Kateland Garnett, Kar’Leigh King, June Riel and Marlene Amezcua, whose dedication and hard work were on full display during the high-pressure, timed culinary challenge.

“This accomplishment reflects the commitment these students have to their craft and the pride they take in representing Brazoswood High School,” said Culinary Arts teacher Paul Lewis, Jr. “Even more remarkable, these young chefs were competing for the very first time!”
