Brazoswood High School’s aspiring educators showcased their talent, creativity, and passion for teaching at the 2025 National Educators Rising Conference recently held in Orlando, Florida. Competing against students from across the country, BISD’s future teachers represented the district with excellence, bringing home national recognition, along with great memories.

Among the highlights, Rosie Rios placed 8th in the Children’s Literature K–3 (Spanish), Varsity Division, demonstrating both linguistic skill and an inspiring heart for early education.

Two Brazoswood teams earned White Ribbons in the Interactive Bulletin Board Middle School – Varsity Division:

  • Leon Hudzietz & Chip Dodson
  • Annie Luker & Olivia Bonnot

In addition, several other students presented impressive projects:

  • Adelyn Bonnot – Children’s Literature Pre-K (Junior Varsity)
  • Rami Elyoussef & Kayde Huber – Project Visualize Service (Varsity)

Another huge highlight also came from Evangelyn Aguirre, an 8th grader from Clute Intermediate and incoming Brazoswood freshman, who earned 3rd place in the nation in the Public Speaking category. Competing at Nationals during Clute Intermediate’s first year participating in the TAFE program makes her achievement especially remarkable and a proud moment for the campus and district.

Students also participated in impactful breakout sessions on instructional techniques, educational ethics, and strategies for effective classroom leadership. The students worked incredibly hard to prepare for the competition. They not only competed with excellence, but also embraced the opportunity to grow as future educators. We are so proud of their dedication and professionalism.

Outside the competition, the students had the chance to explore Universal Studios, rounding out a trip filled with educational and memorable experiences.

Congratulations to our Brazoswood TAFE students on this impressive achievement, and a special thank you to their dedicated advisors Mary Ashley Jimenez and Cameron Peters for guiding and supporting these future leaders in education.
