The purpose of the BISD Educator Spotlight Award is to recognize outstanding teachers across our district. These are teachers who go above and beyond for not only students, but for their co-workers, as well. They are knocking instruction out of the park, they are collaborative team members, and support all learners. These teachers lift-up their co-workers and students, and their overall performance is spectacular!

February Spotlight Teachers:

Yasmine Guerrero
Secondary Spotlight Teacher - Yasmin Guerrero - Brazosport High School:
Yasmin Guerrero- 10th Grade English Teacher- Ms. G’s campus stated that she is, without a doubt, the most loving and dedicated teacher they have had the pleasure to work with. She embodies the principles of Capturing Kids’ Hearts every day she steps into the building, creating an environment where every student feels seen and empowered to succeed. Her peers state, “Ms. Guerrero is developmentally responsive to young adolescents. She takes the time to create lessons that are relevant and engaging so her students will be successful in their learning.”  With kindness, patience, and a deep commitment to her students, she maximizes every opportunity to make a positive impact.

Elizabeth Eikmeier
Elementary Spotlight Teacher - Elizabeth Eikmeier - Polk Elementary:
Elizabeth Eikmeier- Special Education Teacher- Ms. Elizabeth Eikmeier is a shining example of dedication and excellence in education. Through her relentless commitment to closing academic gaps, she ensures that every student reaches their full potential by using data-driven instruction and targeted interventions. She actively collaborates and co-teaches with colleagues, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all. Beyond her own students, Ms. Eikmeier provides invaluable classroom management and behavior support strategies to both teachers and students, creating a positive and structured atmosphere for learning.

Additionally, she generously shares best practices with district special education teachers, serving as a mentor and leader in her field. Her passion and expertise make a lasting impact on her students, colleagues, and the entire school community.
