Brazosport ISD has selected Coach Gena Glenn as the Head Volleyball Coach for Brazoswood High School. Coach Glenn was hired in January, allowing her to begin working with the team ahead of the upcoming season. A seasoned educator and coach with 15 years of experience in coaching and education, Coach Glenn brings a wealth of experience, leadership and a proven track record of success to the school's volleyball program.
A proud graduate of Brazoswood High School, Coach Glenn returns home after leading the volleyball program at Langham Creek High School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Under her leadership, the team made nine consecutive appearances in the 6A State Playoffs and earned back-to-back 17-6A Co-District Championships in 2016 and 2017. Glenn was named the 17-6A Co-Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2015.
In addition to her coaching success, Coach Glenn has been a respected voice in district-level leadership, serving on the CFISD Middle School Volleyball Committee and the CFISD Volleyball COVID Mitigation Committee. She is certified in Physical Education, Special Education, Health, and Social Studies and was nominated for Langham Creek’s Teacher of the Year in 2023.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Gena Glenn back to the Brazoswood family,” said BISD Athletic Director Jay Zeller. “She leads with heart, builds strong relationships, and sets high expectations—on and off the court. Her leadership will help elevate our volleyball program and positively impact our student-athletes.”
Coach Glenn shared her excitement for the opportunity to return to her alma mater, “It’s an honor to come back to Brazoswood and lead the program that helped shape my love for the game. I’m passionate about building a culture rooted in trust, reflection, and continuous improvement. Together with our athletes, families, and community, I look forward to building something special.”
Coach Glenn is joined in Brazosport ISD by her husband, Cody Glenn, who will serve as a Social Studies teacher and coach at Brazoswood High School. Together, they bring a shared passion for education, athletics, and building meaningful relationships with students and the school community.
