
The Grants for Great Ideas Cash Caravan made its way to various campuses across Brazosport ISD, surprising educators with funding to bring innovative projects to life. A total of $74,570.62 in grants was awarded to support creative and engaging initiatives that enhance student learning and create new opportunities for students across the district.
These grants equip BISD educators with tools and resources to implement dynamic learning experiences that spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and inspire students to achieve their full potential. From hands-on STEM projects to new instructional strategies, these innovative ideas will enrich classrooms and leave a lasting impact on student success.
“The unwavering support of the BISD Education Foundation and its donors is a game changer for our schools,” Superintendent Danny Massey shared. “Their generosity allows us to turn innovative ideas into reality, ensuring our students have access to high-quality, engaging learning experiences. Each of these grants represents an investment in our students’ future, helping them develop skills that will serve them for years to come.”
2025 Grant Recipients and Projects:
- Brazoswood High School, CTE Health Science Department – $5,954.99
Delivering Knowledge: Revolutionizing Maternal Care Training – Funding will provide a NOELLE Maternal and Newborn Care Patient Simulator, giving students hands-on experience in realistic birthing scenarios.
- Brazoswood High School, Lela Siegel – $7,500
Mirrorless Momentum: Empowering Students with Mirrorless Technology – Grant will upgrade photography equipment, replacing DSLR cameras with Canon R100 mirrorless cameras for commercial photography and yearbook students.
- Bess Brannen Elementary School, Bridget Tidewell – $6,000
Fine Motor Skills Improvement – This initiative supports first-grade students in developing essential fine motor skills through hands-on learning activities.
- AP Beutel Elementary, Kelli Montgomery – $7,500
Hands-on and Immersive Learning in Upper Elementary – Funding will provide literacy and phonics kits, interactive games, and immersive experiences to enhance reading comprehension and communication skills.
- Grady Rasco Middle School, Lee Ann Cude – $12,500
Short Story Cube – A literacy initiative that encourages students to read, write, and publish their own short stories through an interactive kiosk.
- Clute Intermediate School, Christina Giles – $2,000
Building Future Leaders – An after-school program focused on life skills such as greetings, hygiene, job seeking, and financial literacy to prepare students for future success.
- Clute Intermediate School, Madison Varga – $5,674
GAGA XP – Grant will fund GAGAXP equipment for high-energy, team-based physical activities in PE classes.
- Freeport Elementary School, Kimberly Guevara – $7,441.63
Coding for the Future – Purchase of Ozobots to introduce Pre-K to 2nd-grade students to coding through hands-on STREAM Lab activities.
- Freeport Intermediate School, Darren Ingram – $7,500
RoboSpark: Igniting a Passion for Robotics – Funding will expand the after-school robotics program with 12 new Sphero RVR robots, engaging more students in STEM learning.
- Brazosport High School, CTE Culinary – $12,500
BBQ Trailer and Culinary Training – A new BBQ trailer will provide hands-on culinary training while supporting district events and programs.
