Clute Intermediate Artists Earn Top Honors at Jr. VASE Competition

Student artists at Clute Intermediate School earned top recognition at this year’s Junior Visual Art Scholastic Event (Jr. VASE) competition. Three Clute Intermediate students received the highest possible score of a “4” for their artwork—an outstanding accomplishment that reflects both their creativity and commitment to excellence. In addition, one student who competed virtually earned a score of “3,” with points deducted due to the virtual submission format.
Art teacher Briana Davis shared her pride in the students’ achievements and the dedication they demonstrated throughout the creative process. “These students put in an incredible amount of effort to complete their projects and represent our school at this level,” Davis said. “I am very proud of their hard work and growth.”
The recognition also highlights the continued progress of the Clute Intermediate art program. Through the leadership and dedication of Davis and fellow art educator Madeline Marshall, the program has grown increasingly competitive, reaching new levels of success alongside other strong programs in the area. Their efforts are helping to create meaningful opportunities for students to explore their talents, build confidence, and showcase their work on a larger stage.
More than the awards, this experience represents the growth each student achieved along the way. From concept to completion, they embraced the creative process, took risks, and pushed themselves to improve. Their accomplishments are a testament to their perseverance and pride in their work.
