
At the January Board of Trustees meeting, the district proudly recognized two outstanding educators as Mission First, Team Always Educators, honoring their commitment to student success, collaboration, and innovation.
The Mission First, Team Always Educator Award recognizes staff members who prioritize student success with purpose and integrity, foster collaboration and trust to strengthen their teams, and embrace innovation and lifelong learning to prepare students to be Future Ready.
Fran Faulk, OM Roberts Elementary
Mrs. Faulk is a special Education co teacher at O.M. Roberts Elementary. Her campus shared that Fran consistently puts the mission of student success first, advocating for every child with compassion, expertise, and high expectations while creating a classroom where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. She understands that student success is a shared responsibility and goes above and beyond her role to support the entire campus—whether working car rider lines daily, helping with special events, or supporting awards programs—always stepping in with a positive attitude and a smile. A true team player, Mrs. Faulk builds strong relationships across grade levels and departments, generously sharing her knowledge, uplifting colleagues with her warmth and sense of humor, and strengthening campus culture through collaboration and professionalism. In every sense, she exemplifies Mission First, Team Always, and her selfless dedication leaves a lasting impact on students, staff, and the entire Roberts family.
Yolanda Wilcox, Clute Intermediate
Ms. Wilcox is a Special Education- BEST Teacher at CLute Intermediate school. CIS administrators shared that Ms. Wilcox is an exceptional educator who consistently puts students first, supporting both learners and teachers across campus with calm professionalism, compassion, and unwavering consistency. She embodies the belief that when you capture a child’s heart, you capture their mind, prioritizing students’ social and emotional well-being while maintaining high expectations for behavior and learning. Through her patience, skill, and collaborative problem-solving, she reaches even the most challenging students, helping them feel safe, develop meaningful coping strategies, and recognize their true potential. With an outstanding work ethic, dependable attendance, and a steady, positive presence, Ms. Wilcox creates a supportive environment that inspires students and serves as a powerful model for colleagues, extending her impact far beyond her classroom.
