Jazz musicians from Brazoswood and Brazosport high schools recently earned recognition at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region Jazz Band auditions, with students from both schools advancing to the next Area level.
On September 19, 2026, Brazoswood High School attended the TMEA Region XVII All-Region Jazz Band tryouts. 90 students from across the region competed for a place in the ensembles, with Brazoswood students earning 10 spots. The selected musicians will join other top performers for a clinic and concert with the Region XVII Jazz Bands in November.
That same day, Brazosport High School hosted the TMEA Region XIII All-Region Jazz Band auditions. Approximately 100 students competed for 20 positions. Brazosport students earned 10 spots, the most of any school in Region XIII, with each of the selected students advancing to the next Area level. The students will perform alongside other regional musicians at the Region XIII clinic and concert in January.
Congratulations to the following BISD musicians on their accomplishments!
