Brazosport ISD has named Kennedi (Fisher) Wade as the new head softball coach at Brazoswood High School. As a 2015 Brazoswood High School graduate, Kennedi returns to lead the Lady Buc softball program where she once played and has spent the past four years coaching.
Wade joined Brazosport ISD in 2020 and has taught at Rasco Middle School, Clute Intermediate, and Brazoswood High School. She currently teaches Leadworthy at Brazoswood. In addition to serving as the varsity assistant softball coach, Wade has coached volleyball and basketball at Brazoswood High School, girls athletics at Clute Intermediate School, and select softball with Texas Threat 18U and Aces Express 12U.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2020.
"Kennedi knows what this program means because she has been part of it as a player and as a coach," said Brazosport ISD Director of Athletics Jay Zeller. "She has built strong relationships with our student-athletes, understands the expectations of Lady Buc softball, and cares deeply about helping young women grow both on and off the field."
For Kennedi, leading the Lady Bucs is an opportunity to give back to a program that had a lasting impact on her. "As an alum of the program, this opportunity holds special meaning to me,” she shared. “I understand the tradition, expectations, and pride that come with being a part of this program. I want to continue building something that current and future athletes are proud to be part of and walk away with the same impact this program has given me."
Kennedi Wade will begin leading the Lady Buc softball program immediately as preparations begin for the 2026-2027 season.
