Manufacturing Team Earns Reserve Champion – Best of Show at Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

Brazoswood High School’s Manufacturing Team once again showcased their exceptional craftsmanship at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Industrial Craft Competition. After earning Grand Champion honors the past two years, this year’s team brought home an impressive Reserve Champion – Best of Show award with their fully functional, industrial-sized BBQ pit project.
Led by Brazoswood teacher Michael Strobel, the students competed against some of the best high school programs in the state. The students competed in the TIER 1 division, earning Reserve Champion in Project Execution and Reserve Champion – Best of Show overall.
Team members include:
- Tristen Thompson
- Luke Lindsey
- Stuart Pittman
- Enrique Romo
- Kurtis Stanislaw
- Guillermo Hernandez
- Eliazar Rubio
- Jackson Cobb
- Jorge Espinoza
At the Industrial Craft Competition, teams are judged in several areas, with their scores combined to determine the overall winners. Although the Buccaneers narrowly missed a third straight first-place finish, earning Reserve Champion – Best of Show is a remarkable achievement and a true reflection of their hard work, skill, and pride in craftsmanship.
Prior to the final competition, reporter Shern-Min Chow from KHOU Channel 11 visited Brazoswood to feature the team’s project and hear directly from the students about their experience. You can view the coverage at https://fb.watch/ybhGnE6MfO/.
Congratulations to our Brazoswood Manufacturing Team for setting a strong example of educational excellence and showing what it means to be prepared for the future. We are proud of you!
