At the March Board of Trustees meeting, the district proudly recognized two outstanding educators as Mission First, Team Always Educators, honoring their commitment to student success, collaboration, and innovation.
The Mission First, Team Always Educator Award recognizes staff members who prioritize student success with purpose and integrity, foster collaboration and trust to strengthen their teams, and embrace innovation and lifelong learning to prepare students to be Future Ready.
Nancy Sepulveda, Freeport Elementary
Ms. Nancy Sepulveda, who serves as a Pre-K bilingual teacher at Freeport Elementary. Mr. Mercer shared that Ms. Sepulveda consistently places students at the center of everything she does while supporting the entire campus community. She creates a nurturing and engaging classroom environment where our youngest learners feel safe, valued, and excited to learn each day. Her patience, creativity, and dedication help build a strong foundation for students both academically and socially.
Kelsye Kishpaugh, Rasco Middle School
Kelsye Kishpaugh, a special education Life Skills teacher at Rasco Middle School. Mr. Fuller shared that Mrs. Kishpaugh consistently goes above and beyond for her students. She actively seeks out both school and community opportunities that allow her students to participate in meaningful, real-life learning experiences. She also expands their exposure to the fine arts by encouraging and supporting their involvement in the Rasco choir, along with many other campus activities and programs. In her classroom, she thoughtfully leads students with a wide range of abilities, ensuring that each child is supported and challenged so they can reach their full potential, regardless of their starting point.
The district congratulates Ms. Sepulveda and Ms. Kishpaugh for their exceptional service and thanks them for their unwavering commitment to excellence in education.
