This school year the Brazosport ISD’s Human Resources Department introduced a new educator recognition program that highlights the district’s theme: Mission First, Team Always, Future Ready. This award celebrates outstanding staff members who exemplify the district’s commitment to student success, collaboration, and innovation.
The Mission First, Team Always Educator Award recognizes teachers who:
- Prioritize student success with purpose and integrity (Mission First),
- Foster collaboration and trust to strengthen the team (Team Always), and
- Embrace innovation and lifelong learning to prepare students to be Future Ready.
“Our educators are the heart of our mission to graduate each student to be future ready,” said Jennifer Nabors, Chief Human Resources Officer. “This recognition allows us to spotlight those who not only lead with purpose in their classrooms but also strengthen our teams and prepare students for tomorrow’s opportunities.”
Congratulations to our September 2025 Mission First, Team Always Educator Award Recipients!
Elementary Honoree: Anne Tischler, Stephen F. Austin Elementary
Mrs. Tischler serves as an Interventionist, supporting students in closing gaps in reading and math while also providing dyslexia instruction. Principal Jessica Robertson praised her impact, noting: “Anne makes a huge impact at SFA. She has a positive attitude and is a great example of a team player. She wears many hats to support our campus and has been a great resource for new staff. Anne has been positive and supportive in helping the growth and change at SFA.”
Secondary Honoree: Kourtney Ragusa, Lighthouse Learning Center
Ms. Ragusa teaches 6th–8th grade science and has already made her mark as a valued member of the Lighthouse team. Campus leaders shared that she has started the year strong, setting high expectations and holding students accountable in a positive way. They described her as “a positive light on campus” and expressed their gratitude for all that she brings to the team.
Brazosport ISD celebrates educators like Mrs. Tischler and Ms. Ragusa, whose dedication to students, colleagues, and lifelong learning exemplifies what it means to put Mission First, Team Always, Future Ready. Each month, BISD will continue to recognize teachers across the district who inspire excellence, strengthen our teams, and prepare students to thrive in the future.
