Brazosport ISD will join schools across the country in celebrating National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) from March 2–6, 2026. This annual observance recognizes the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in helping students start their day ready to learn, grow, and succeed.
The 2026 theme, The Quest for School Breakfast, encourages students to explore the positive impact of a healthy breakfast through fun, adventure-themed activities, special menus, and engaging school cafeteria experiences.
Research shows that students who eat a healthy breakfast are more likely to:
- Improve concentration and memory
- Perform better on standardized tests
- Maintain healthier weight and energy levels
- Have better attendance and classroom behavior
“Breakfast is fuel for learning,” said BISD Child Nutrition Director Sandra Botello. “By celebrating National School Breakfast Week, we not only spotlight the value of nutritious meals but also honor the dedication of our school nutrition teams who serve students every morning.”
The School Breakfast Program provides millions of nutritious meals to students each school day, offering an important opportunity for children to begin their day with the energy they need to succeed.
Throughout the week, BISD elementary campuses will celebrate the theme with simple, fun touches including:
- Themed breakfast menus featuring student-favorite items
- Quest-inspired decorations in cafeteria serving areas
- Encouraging students to start their day with a healthy school breakfast
“We hope to make breakfast fun and exciting while reinforcing the message that a nutritious start to the day makes a real difference in students’ lives,” said Botello.
