September Spotlight Teachers

Melody Ewald-Fabian  Melody Ewald-Fabian
Secondary Spotlight Teacher: Melody Ewald-Fabain
Clute Intermediate School 7th Grade Math Intervention Teacher

As a math teacher, interventionist, math department chair, and co-leader of the CIS Culture Climate Cadre, Melody is always the first to say "whatever you need me to do" or "I can help with that." You know she is going to get the job done and she's going to focus on student success. When administrators say they wish they could clone their outstanding teachers, they are thinking of teachers like Ms. Fabain. She shows up for her students every day-- beyond just being physically present in the classroom. She is compassionate and full of that "tough love." Ms. Fabain pushes her students to achieve beyond their own expectations because she believes in them –many times when no one else has. And if a student is not successful, she takes it personally. She is constantly reflecting on her own practice, seeking feedback, researching the latest and greatest tools so she can refine and better tune her skills to meet the ever-changing needs of her students. Ms. Fabain is a treasure among teachers and they broke the mold when they made her.

Alicia Alliniece  Alicia Alliniece
Elementary Spotlight Teacher: Alicia Alliniece
Madge Griffith Elementary 1st Grade Teacher

Ms. Alliniece has been at Griffith for eight years, and her devotion to students and her school shows through everyday. She has served as a mentor for new teachers and is always willing to help others. When she made the jump from 3rd grade to 1st grade she handled it like a pro and true BISD Influencer. Ms. Alliniece is not only a dedicated teacher but a true leader. Once you are a student of Ms. Alliniece you are forever in her heart.
